Making Donations – Incoming and Outgoing

Incoming Donations

We happily accept donations of all kinds of leather, leather goods (jackets, bags, boots), denim, fur, upholstery materials, leather tools, sewing machines, and more. If we can’t use it in-store, we will find someone who loves it! We have a particular need for non-stretch denim to use in denim darning (in any color/wash).

Your donation may be used to train our staff of underrepresented leatherworkers, and then resold to recuperate the costs. Sometimes, we distribute these donated items to our team (if the sizing fits and it’s fair to all). If you are looking to donate leather, it will likely be used for repairs or creating small goods.

All donations are accepted at our storefront anytime we are open, no notice needed.

At this time, we do not consign or buy leather goods. We may have interest in machinery or tools and are well-versed in buying out retiring shops. If you are selling, please send an email with pictures and details to info@awltogetherleather.ca

Our Donations and Charitable Contributions

Any time we complete work on an Indigenous-related project, we make a $15 donation to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society. This includes, but is not limited to, moccasins, rawhide and buckskins, medicine pouches, drums, etc, as well as brands that choose to use Indigenous imagery in their logos/products (such as Indian Motorcycle or Chippewa Boots). This donation is taken out of the profit of the job, and not an additional charge we pass onto the client. We make this donation with Truth and Reconciliation in mind, and will always tell our clients in an effort to spread education and support for our Indigenous communities.

Additionally, we frequently provide donations-in-kind to local organizations that align with our values – namely those that are serving queer/trans or Indigenous communities, those that are related to the leather trade or those creating a circular economy. For organizations that are within BC, we can provide gift cards or pre-made items to contribute to fundraising efforts (such as raffles or silent auctions). If you are a local organization that would like sponsorship, please reach out via email to info@awltogetherleather.ca

At this time we do not have the capacity to support non-BC organizations, one-off-events, tiered sponsorships, or cash donations. As a small business, we have limited capacity and reserve the right to decline for any reason.
