Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the services of Awl Together Leather Inc (“us”, “we”, or “our”).
Your access to and use of Awl Together Leather Inc is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who wish to access or use our services.
By entering a project with Awl Together Leather Inc, you are legally agreeing to our terms & conditions. Last updated: June 16th, 2023.
Order Cancellations:
Any project that has been entered into our system and subsequently asked for return for any reason is subject to a $15 plus tax ‘destocking’ fee, which covers the cost of processing fees and our time.
Pre-Booked Items:
Any pre-booked item that is not brought into our shop on time is voided for the agreed-upon return date. Any pre-booked item that requires further repairs since the time of the quote will be charged for those repairs at the time of drop-off. Any pre-booked item that does not come into the studio within two weeks of the agreed-upon date loses $15.75 (including tax) of the deposit (this covers our intake time) and the remaining due is kept on file as store credit unless a refund is requested. Awl Together Leather is not liable for items that are pre-booked for a job but are not in our studio.
Timelines:
Our timeline is always an estimate. Projects may be returned a few days before or after the estimated date with the exception of projects who paid a rush fee. If your project needs to be returned for a certain date & you didn’t let us know, please contact us to update your file. Rush fees may apply.
Warranty:
All our work comes under a limited warranty.
All our sewing on motorcycle leathers is done with industry-standard double-bonded 69 thread with a double stitch for ultimate strength. None of our work is guaranteed to withstand a motorcycle crash, partial or full weight suspension, and/or rough treatment. Awl Together Leather Inc is not responsible for any injury or death caused by the use/misuse of products falling under our service.
For all minor defects (popped stitches, failed rivets, broken zipper heads, etc) we will happily repair the item, within a three-month window from when the item was picked up. Any item that was damaged post-pick-up by user error is not covered by warranty (eg. motorcycle slide-out). Please note, we ask customers to pay one-way shipping and any brokerage fees on items for re-repair.
For items that require further alteration, please contact us for a case-by-case solution. Any items that were altered contrary to the fitting (missed an arm taper), we apologize – this is an extremely rare occurrence. We do will our best to rectify the alteration to the best of our abilities. We guarantee symmetrical seams within a quarter-inch of difference, anything above 0.25″ will be fixed for free, anything below 0.25″ will be edited for a charge. Any item that requires further alterations that were not indicated on the original fitting, will be subject to a full charge for re-alteration (eg. Jacket tapered in the torso, but wants a tighter taper in the armpit region). Any item that was submitted without a fitting is voided for any further discounts or free alterations. Please note, we ask customers to pay one-way shipping and any brokerage fees on items for re-alteration.
For all redyes, we will appraise items to the best of our ability to determine their potential suitability for dying. We use industry-standard Feibings Pro Leather Dye, Angelus Leather Paint, and Resolene and/or Atom Wax sealant. Due to the unique nature of leather, we can not guarantee an even color distribution, a predictable level of ‘shine/gloss’, or perfectly sealed items. We can not guarantee a complete lack of rub-off color transfer (particularly when tested with white cloth/paper towel), but will happily reseal items once upon request. Please note, we ask customers to pay one-way shipping and any brokerage fees on items for re-dying.
For all custom items, we make the item to the agreed specifications (matching any reference pictures) to the best of our ability, with minor edits decided by us if the thickness of the leather that was selected / style of the item mandates it. Custom jobs that skip the cost of a mock-up item are not eligible for any free alterations (we suggest making a mock-up). We offer one minor edit (shorten this strap, extra snap here, etc) per custom job and then charge for further edits or major alterations at full cost. We are unable to offer any returns or refunds on embossed items (items with initials, logos, stamping, etc) or any custom-made garments or size-specific items. Please note, we ask customers to pay one-way shipping and any brokerage fees on items for editing.
Timelines – any and all items that return to us for warranty repair for any reason are subject to the schedule of the workshop at the moment of drop-off. Any warranty repair can elect to pay regular rush fees based off the cost of the warranteed repair, which is a percentage of the job. Warranteed items do not qualify for free faster service.
For any item where the work is considered unsatisfactory by the customer but passes our professional standards, Awl Together Leather Inc has the right to determine the best solution and will do so on a case-by-case basis.
Insurance:
Insurance is based on the value of the job, not the item. This means when we ship items, we insure the value of the job paid in-studio unless otherwise specified.
Awl Together Leather shall not be liable beyond the actual cash value of the Insured Property at the time any loss or damage occurs, and the loss or damage shall be ascertained or estimated according to such actual cash value, with proper deduction for depreciation.
Repairers Lein / Unpaid Accounts:
All items must be paid in full before being returned. Awl Together Leather Inc reserves the right to hold items until they are fully paid under the Repairers Lein Act. We will hold the items for 90 days, give multiple notices of payment due, and eventually donate or sell the item in question, again with notice.
Unclaimed Orders:
We happily hold an item for pick-up for 90 days. If an order is unclaimed after 90 days, and multiple attempts to contact, that item is subject to be donated or resold by Awl Together Leather Inc. Please pick up your items!
Shipping:
Awl Together Leather Inc is not responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail. We default ship all our items with tracking unless specified. Please note, the cheapest US shipping (US Air Small) does not come with tracking. Any items shipped to us are subject to duty/import fees, payable by the customer.
Personal Information:
