We make these bags to reduce leather and textile waste and to pass on leather at an affordable cost. As off-cuts, all pieces will be different and are liable to have scars/holes/imperfections. The leather most found in these is chrome-tanned upholstery-weight leather that is perfect for hand-sewing (with a sharp needle).
