Workshops & Events

Due to Covid-19, we are not currently offering classes or workshops. We will re-evaluate when it is safe to do so and hope to offer our space as a hub for textile-based community events (such as needlework circles, darning workshops) and, of course, make-it-yourself leatherwork classes. Keep an eye on this page for YVR Leatherwork Meetups, Movie Nights and more!

Wanting a fun Staff Party event? Send us a message. We have a wide range of offerings that can be hosted in our studio or at your Workplace or Studio.

1-1 Mentorship:

We offer 1-1 mentorship in custom leatherworking, accepting students on the basis of their experience and the project you’d like to complete. For example, we’ve helped students create their first pair of sandals, improve their hand-stitching, or help pattern out a harness. Mentorship is charged at our shop rate of $120 an hour and requires a safety waiver to be signed. If interested, please email us your project idea and experience level!

Covid-19 and mentorship: We accept mentees with the current Covid-19 numbers in mind. All mentees must be fully vaccinated (as is our staff) and must wear a face mask 100% of the time (as do our employees). Sometimes we pause mentorship based on numbers. We can offer virtual Zoom mentorship, however, hands-on learning is best done in person.

Shoe Shining at Events:

Hosting an event (in 2022) that could use a team of bootblacks working a shoe shine stand? We offer this service! Get in touch via email with your ideas and we’ll provide the rest.
